Velours & Vellum is an original luxury fragrance packaging concept designed in house by Fivestar Branding. The collection explores romance through a series of perfume and cologne duos, with each chapter pairing a feminine fragrance and masculine cologne around a symbolic relationship archetype.
Rather than creating literal character merchandise, the project translates familiar romantic story dynamics into collectible beauty packaging: bottle silhouettes, ornate boxes, color psychology, material finishes, and visual storytelling. Each set is designed to feel like part of the same fictional luxury fragrance house while still carrying its own emotional world — from rose-lit libraries and moonlit tides to enchanted gardens, desert nights, forest oaths, and river-wind horizons.
The result is a conceptual brand system that sits between couture fragrance, collectible packaging, and cinematic world-building.

Chapter I — Rose & Thorn
Rose & Thorn opens the collection with a dramatic contrast between softness and strength. The feminine fragrance leans into blush vellum, gilded roses, curved glass, and literary romance, while the masculine cologne answers with dark glass, black lacquer, gold filigree, and a noble, shadowed presence. Together, the set feels like an old library lit by candlelight — romantic, refined, and just dangerous enough to hold your attention.

Chapter II — Tide & Crown
Tide & Crown brings an oceanic elegance into the collection through pearl, sea glass, moonlit blue, and royal navigation. The feminine bottle feels fluid and luminous, shaped by aquatic curves, shell-like detailing, and soft iridescence. The masculine cologne introduces darker teal glass, compass-inspired structure, metallic accents, and a more regal silhouette. This chapter feels like romance carried by salt air, moonlight, and the pull of another world.

Chapter III — Brass & Bayou
Brass & Bayou moves into a warmer, more soulful atmosphere with magnolia, amber glass, brass accents, cypress green, and vintage charm. The feminine fragrance feels graceful, ambitious, and grounded, while the masculine cologne brings in deeper woods, antique gold, and a smooth Southern elegance. This set feels like lantern light, jazz brass, garden air after rain, and a romance built with both charm and grit.

Chapter IV — Briar & Dawn
Briar & Dawn is soft, romantic, and touched with morning light. The feminine perfume uses rose-pink packaging, botanical embossing, ribbon detail, and a petal-like bottle form to suggest beauty hidden behind thorns. The masculine cologne introduces sunburst motifs, warm gold, structured glass, and a heroic brightness. Together, this chapter feels like an enchanted garden at the exact moment the first light breaks through.

Chapter V — Glass & Midnight
Glass & Midnight is the collection’s crystalline evening chapter. The feminine fragrance is built from pale blue, silver ornament, cut-glass sparkle, and icy elegance, while the masculine cologne balances it with deep midnight blue, clockwork details, silver filigree, and a more formal structure. The set has a ballroom-after-dark feeling — polished, magical, and dramatic enough to make the clock sweat a little.

Chapter VI — Sand & Star
Sand & Star brings the collection into an amber-lit world of desert luxury, turquoise enamel, gilded ornament, and night-sky romance. The feminine fragrance feels jewel-like and radiant, with golden glass, warm oasis tones, and refined decorative detail. The masculine cologne adds deeper amber, architectural structure, star motifs, and caravan-inspired richness. This chapter feels adventurous, opulent, and made for a sky full of lanterns.

Chapter VII — Steel & Blossom
Steel & Blossom is one of the strongest contrast chapters in the collection. The feminine fragrance pairs blush glass, blossom detail, delicate vertical lines, and a quiet sense of discipline with the softness of floral beauty. The masculine cologne moves into armored black glass, metal detailing, red accents, and a more protective structure. Together, the set explores beauty and resolve — soft petals beside sharpened steel.

Chapter VIII — Fern & Arrow
Fern & Arrow brings the collection into a woodland world of moss green, fern embossing, archery motifs, and forest romance. The feminine fragrance feels botanical, luminous, and nature-rooted, while the masculine cologne uses darker green glass, leather-like accents, arrow details, shield forms, and antique gold. This chapter feels earthy, clever, and quietly adventurous — less ballroom, more moonlit forest oath.

Chapter IX — Lantern & Locket
Lantern & Locket brings a golden, storybook glow into the collection. The feminine fragrance leans into sunlit ivory, warm blush, floral ornament, and a radiant lantern motif, creating a bottle that feels hopeful, expressive, and full of movement. The masculine cologne answers with deeper bronze, leathered brown, antique gold, map details, and locket-inspired symbolism. Together, this chapter feels adventurous and romantic — like a stolen evening under floating lights, with just enough mischief to keep it from getting too precious.

Chapter X — Wind & River
Wind & River closes the collection with a grounded, poetic sense of movement. The feminine fragrance uses flowing glass, soft water tones, leaf-like ornament, and river-inspired detailing to express intuition, nature, and quiet strength. The masculine cologne answers with darker glass, compass motifs, antique bronze, map textures, and explorer symbolism. Together, this final chapter feels reflective and open-air — a romance shaped by water, wind, distance, and the pull toward something beyond the horizon.
